Project Connect offers monthly home visits utilizing curriculum developed by Parents As Teachers.  Parents As Teachers is an internationally evidence based acclaimed program.  Project Connect/Family Center parent educators have all been trained and certified by Parents As Teachers National Center.

Visits focus on a systematic approach to the growth and development of your child. Parents are provided with practical information on appropriate activities, books and toys that promote learning.  In addition, children receive an annual developmental screening.

Eligibility

Home visits are available to Attleboro families with children prenatal through 4 years of age. Services are free of charge. To sign up please call our office. A parent educator will be assigned to you and contact you to set up an initial visit.

What should I expect?

Once a parent educator has been assigned to your family, she will work in partnership with you to help support your child’s growth and development. Visits are once a month at a time convenient for you and your parent educator and last for one hour. During the visit you and your child(ren) will participate together with your parent educator in developmentally appropriate activities and discuss any concerns you may have. The program is designed to support you in becoming your child’s first and most important teacher.

ASQ (Ages & Stages Questionnaire) Developmental Screenings

The ASQ looks at developmental progress across five domains: fine motor, gross motor, communication, problem-solving, and social-emotional skills. This screening tool will provide you information on your child's developmental milestones. The ASQ is available to any parent wishing to learn more about their child's progress.  Parent educators are available to assist parents with this screening tool and to discuss the results.
