Project Connect Newsletter - January 2017
During the winter months, it’s important for all of us to remain physically active and that includes young children. You may have noticed we continue to increase the number of activities that are designed to help children move. Physical activity has many benefits. According to the healthykids’ website, these include: promoting healthy growth and development, building strong bones and muscles, improving balance and coordination, assists in developing fine and gross motor skills, helps establish connections between different parts of the brain, improves concentration and thinking skills, improves confidence and self-esteem, provides opportunities to develop social skills and make friends, and improves sleep.
