During the winter months, it’s important for all of us to remain physically active and that includes young children. You may have noticed we continue to increase the number of activities that are designed to help children move. Physical activity has many benefits. According to the healthykids’ website, these include: promoting healthy growth and development, building strong bones and muscles, improving balance and coordination, assists in developing fine and gross motor skills, helps establish connections between different parts of the brain, improves concentration and thinking skills, improves confidence and self-esteem, provides opportunities to develop social skills and make friends, and improves sleep. October 9th through 15th is Fire Prevention Week. This year’s theme Is “DON’T WAIT – CHECK THE DATE!” REPLACE SMOKE ALARMS EVERY 10 YEARS”. We all have smoke alarms in our homes but may give little thought to them. Working smoke alarms let you know there is fire and gives you and your family time to get outside.
